Solar generation estimator

How much electricity will a rooftop system actually produce? Enter the system size in kW to estimate daily, monthly and yearly generation and the approximate value of that power on your bill, using the average yield UVR uses in its estimates.

How it works

  1. Monthly generation = system size (kW) × 126 units.
  2. Yearly generation = monthly × 12; daily average = yearly ÷ 365.
  3. Bill value = units × ₹8.5 per unit.
  4. Add your monthly consumption to see what share of it the system could cover.

Frequently asked questions

How many units does a 1 kW solar system produce?

UVR plans with an average of 126 units (kWh) per kW per month, about 1,512 units a year or roughly 4.1 units a day. Real output depends on your location, panel orientation and tilt, shading, dust, temperature and season, so some months will be higher and some lower than this average.

Why is every month shown the same?

We show a flat monthly average rather than invent a seasonal curve. Output is usually higher in clear, sunny months and lower during monsoon cloud cover, but the exact pattern depends on your site and weather. After the site survey, UVR’s design accounts for your roof’s orientation and shading.

How much will this reduce my electricity bill?

We value each unit at ₹8.5, the average tariff used across UVR estimates. Your actual saving depends on your DISCOM’s slab rates, fixed charges and net-metering terms, and on whether generation exceeds your consumption. Enter your monthly units to see what share of your usage the system could cover.

Does generation drop over the years?

Solar panels slowly lose output over their life, and manufacturers state the guaranteed rate in their performance warranty. This estimator shows average first-year generation only. Check the module datasheet in your quote for the guaranteed output after 25 years, and use the quote comparison tool to line up warranties side by side.
