MGVCL Anand Circle graphic for rooftop solar in Anand and Vallabh Vidyanagar, UVR Green Energies

Anand town, Vallabh Vidyanagar and nearby villages sit on MGVCL Anand Circle. CFA is the national portal. Extra Gujarat state DBT, if you qualify, is the same 22 October 2026 GR as Vadodara.

The short answer

Rooftop solar in Anand is an MGVCL Anand Circle file with the same PM Surya Ghar CFA as the rest of India. Vallabh Vidyanagar, Borsad, Petlad and Khambhat typically share that circle. Apply on the national portal with a registered vendor and DCR modules. The 22 October 2026 state top-up can add DBT up to 2.18 kWp. UVR Green Energies surveys from Bhayli, Vadodara.

Key takeaways

Two MGVCL bills, one highway

Imagine two cousins (a hypothetical pair) comparing May bills over chai. One lives in Vallabh Vidyanagar. The other is in a Gram Panchayat village past Borsad.

Both ask whether solar in Anand is a different scheme from solar in Vadodara.

Short answer: Rooftop solar Anand is PM Surya Ghar on the national portal, inspected by MGVCL Anand Circle, with the same Gujarat state solar subsidy GR as Vadodara if DC stays at or under 2.18 kWp. The bill category — urban RGP versus rural RGP — changes savings, not CFA. UVR Green Energies surveys from Bhayli and does not treat Anand as a foreign country.

MGVCL Anand Circle, not a special Anand scheme

Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. is the central Gujarat state DISCOM. MGVCL’s contact page lists an Anand (O&M) Circle with sub-divisions in Anand city, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Borsad, Petlad, Umreth and Khambhat (Cambay), plus rural desks such as Umreth Rural and Borsad Rural.

CFA does not change at the district border. Solar in Gujarat on an MGVCL residential bill uses the same PIB table in Anand as in Vadodara.

What this Anand guide is not

It is not an Anand-only subsidy rate. Anand does not get a higher CFA slab — only the national table and, separately, the 22 October 2026 state GR when DC ≤ 2.18 kWp.

It is not a Torrent Power guide. Torrent serves published licence areas such as Ahmedabad and Surat city.

Anand Circle is MGVCL. If the bill says Torrent, this page is the wrong helpline.

It is not commercial solar maths dressed as PM Surya Ghar. Dairies, workshops and shops on non-residential tariffs need a different conversation — depreciation and demand charges are real, but they are not ₹78,000 home CFA.

It is not an excuse to skip DCR. DCR vs non-DCR panels still gate subsidy on the national portal.

Urban RGP versus rural RGP — the Anand difference

Subsidy rupees are statewide. Savings follow the tariff printed on the MGVCL bill.

GERC’s MGVCL tariff order for FY 2026-27 (with effect from 1 April 2026) splits residential energy charges. Rate RGP is the urban home tariff. Rate RGP (Rural) applies to residential premises inside a Gram Panchayat as defined in the Gujarat Panchayats Act.

Monthly slab (post-paid, non-BPL)Urban RGPRural RGP
First 50 units₹3.05₹2.65
Next 50 units₹3.50₹3.10
Next 150 units₹4.15₹3.75
Above 250 units₹5.20₹4.90

Figures are energy charges from that GERC/MGVCL tariff order. Fuel surcharge (FPPAS), fixed charge and duty sit on top.

Solar still cuts the expensive units first. A rural bill simply starts from a lower per-unit price, so payback is a little longer — not a reason to skip the file, and not a smaller CFA.

The same order gives smart-meter RGP consumers a 60 paise per unit concession between 11:00 and 17:00. That window overlaps solar hours.

Process from the Anand bill to the net meter

Think of the file as two clocks: your portal login, and MGVCL Anand Circle’s field crew.

  1. Residential MGVCL bill — consumer number, name match for bank proof.
  2. Register on pmsuryaghar.gov.in — pillar explainer: PM Surya Ghar subsidy Gujarat.
  3. Choose a portal-registered vendor (UVR Green Energies files from Bhayli).
  4. Install DCR after feasibility clears; vendor uploads geo-tagged evidence.
  5. MGVCL inspects, fits the bi-directional meter, approves on the portal.
  6. CFA after approval; state DBT later if the GR fits.

MNRE lists MGVCL’s subsidy DISCOM link at suryagujarat.guvnl.in. Use national vs SURYA Gujarat when both links appear in a forward.

Hinglish: Anand solar subsidy kaise apply kare = pehle national portal, phir MGVCL inspection. Surya Gujarat yojana is the GUVNL bookmark, not a second CFA.

The Vadodara walkthrough is the same licensee with a different circle office: apply for PM Surya Ghar in Vadodara.

How much, and 2 kW versus 3 kW

CFA: ₹30,000 / ₹60,000 / ₹78,000 as in PIB.

State GR: extra DBT only ≤ 2.18 kW, 10%/5% of the MNRE benchmark, three-year lock on adding more rooftop capacity. MGVCL is a named paying body. 2 kW vs 3 kW.

UVR Gujarat list: 2 kW about ₹1,14,000 gross / ₹24,000 after CFA + state DBT; 3 kW about ₹1,62,000 / ₹84,000 after CFA only (above the 2.18 kWp state cap). You pay the full installed cost upfront; central and Gujarat state subsidies are credited by DISCOM after commissioning.

Use the PM Surya Ghar subsidy checker with your planned kW before you freeze 2 versus 3.

GERC fees and connectivity (Anand uses the statewide rules)

The 22 October 2026 GR restates an earlier Gujarat waiver: meter, meter-testing, meter-box and connectivity charges aggregating ₹2,950 for new residential rooftop solar up to 6 kW. Confirm the estimate line your MGVCL office prints.

Strengthening above 6 kW: the consumer pays for capacity above the threshold per GERC’s Fourth Amendment and MGVCL’s approved LT schedule — we do not quote ₹/kW here.

PM Surya Ghar homes: no separate connectivity agreement from 4 November 2025 (Fifth Amendment); MGVCL still records commissioning and surplus rate. GERC net metering summary.

Sizing Anand, Vidyanagar and village roofs

Start from twelve months of MGVCL units, not from a neighbour’s 3 kW near the milk dairy.

UVR uses 126 units/kW/month as planning yield before shade — indicative, not a guarantee on your terrace. Roof area planning is about 70 sq ft of shadow-free roof per kW.

After the 2026 GR, 2 kW versus 3 kW is also a lock-in decision. Read what size solar system do I need with your own bill.

Bill patternRough direction
~200 units/monthOften 2 kW candidate
~350–450 units/month2–3 kW trade-off under GR lock
Shop or dairy LT meterNot PM Surya Ghar home CFA

Net metering arithmetic is the same flavour as net metering in Vadodara: billing-cycle set-off, surplus ₹2.25 for five years on self-owned homes unless a later Commission order on your paper says otherwise.

After install: inspection, CFA and state DBT order

MGVCL inspects when the vendor upload is complete — serial numbers, photos and capacity must match the roof. CFA follows DISCOM approval on the national portal. State DBT under the 22 October 2026 GR is a separate MGVCL credit when DC ≤ 2.18 kWp and other GR tests fit.

Keep every portal PDF and MGVCL SMS. If a relative in Bharuch compares timelines, remember that town is usually DGVCL — rooftop solar in Bharuch — not a different CFA table.

UVR in Bhayli — Anand is next door

Frequently asked questions

How much is Anand solar subsidy in 2026?

Central CFA is ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the third kW, capped at ₹78,000, as in PIB. From 22 October 2026 a residential plant up to 2.18 kWp can also receive state DBT after your 10% or 5% share of the MNRE benchmark. UVR’s Gujarat list nets about ₹24,000 for a general-category 2 kW home. You pay the full installed cost upfront; DISCOM credits both after commissioning.

Which DISCOM handles rooftop solar in Anand?

MGVCL. Its contact page lists an Anand Circle with offices in Anand city, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Borsad, Petlad, Umreth and Khambhat. That circle inspects the plant and fits the net meter. CFA is still filed on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Extra Gujarat state DBT, if the 22 October 2026 GR fits, is paid by MGVCL after commissioning — not as a vendor invoice discount.

Is Vallabh Vidyanagar home solar on MGVCL too?

Yes. MGVCL lists a Vallabh Vidyanagar sub-division on the same Anand Circle contact table as Anand North, Anand South, Borsad and Petlad. Read the bill. CFA and the 2026 state GR follow the licensee, not the university gate. A bungalow with a residential connection can apply on the national portal. A shop on a commercial tariff cannot collect home CFA even if the terrace is large.

Do village homes near Anand get PM Surya Ghar?

Yes, if the connection is residential. PIB’s CFA table does not split urban and rural. GERC’s FY 2026-27 schedule does: Rate RGP (Rural) applies inside Gram Panchayat areas and charges less per unit than urban RGP, so each solar unit saves a little less. Subsidy rupees stay the same. Confirm the category printed on the MGVCL bill before you compare a neighbour’s payback story.

Does UVR only install in Vadodara, not Anand?

No. Head office is in Bhayli, Vadodara. Anand is a listed city page on this site and sits on the same MGVCL network. UVR Green Energies also takes solar in Surat, Bharuch, Ahmedabad, Rajkot and national sites. Distance from HQ is not an eligibility test for PM Surya Ghar.
